The Scholarship Program Committee of the EMSCNJ is pleased to announce the availability of applications for all three programs for 2018. EMSCNJ scholarships provide opportunities for volunteers on member squads to further their personal educational goals both within and outside of EMS programs. The three programs include:

The EMSCNJ Standards Committee has announced the release of the 2018 Ambulance Inspection Packet. The 2018 Standards Inspection packet is now available in the FORMS LIBRARY. General information on inspections can be found on the Standards Committee page. The deadline for compliance with EMSCNJ rules is September 15, 2018.
A patient questions the costly bill he receives for paramedic services and the ensuing debate somehow lays blame on New Jersey’s EMS volunteers. Paramedic Tracy Connellan’s commentary (“EMS in N.J. needs total overhaull,” March 29) – and the Asbury Park Press’ subsequent editorial (“EMS system deadly hodgepodge,” March 31) -- contained gross inaccuracies about Garden State volunteer EMS providers, which reawakened hysterical calls for a statewide system overhaul.
